Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) is an intensive therapeutic research-based methodology proven to successfully treat children diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). ABA therapy targets the core characteristics of ASD for intervention to strengthen communication, social and self-care skills, and reduce challenging behaviors that interfere with learning. ABA therapy is the gold-standard of care in helping children with autism develop successfully and prepare for success in school and at home and in the broader community.

A treatment team made up of several key members provides ABA services. A treatment team will always be led by a Board Certified and Arizona Licensed Behavior Analyst. Some treatment teams will be supplemented with a student analyst who is a student pursing board certification and is actively engaged in a behavior analytic program of study. The student analyst works directly under the supervision and oversight of the LBA/BCBA to assist in making treatment decisions. Most clinical teams also include a Behavior Technician. The Behavior Technician is the provider who implements the goals and daily activities under the supervision of the LBA/BCBA.

A Board Certified Behavior Analyst® (BCBA®) is a graduate-level certification in behavior analysis. Professionals who are certified at the BCBA level are independent practitioners who provide behavior-analytic services. In addition, BCBAs supervise the work of Registered Behavior Technicians who implement behavior-analytic interventions.

The BCBA assesses the client’s behaviors and creates individualized programs for the client based on the results of the initial assessment. The BCBA closely trains the direct service provider in the client’s programs and assures that the programs are implemented according to the guidelines provided by the BCBA.

ABA therapy looks different for every client. Some client’s may need a more structured approach than others. Some client’s may need more parental support than others. Our team will design and individualized therapy plan to meet your child and your families needs.

During your first visit, our clinicians gather as much information as possible about your child and obtain the necessary consents for accessing medical and cumulative records. Once the information is received, an intake is scheduled.

Home-based ABA therapy allows treatment to take place in your child’s natural environment, where many daily routines and behaviors naturally occur. This setting helps therapists address real-life challenges such as communication, self-care, transitions, and behavior management within the home. Home-based services also allow parents and caregivers to be directly involved in sessions, supporting consistency, generalization of skills, and carryover into everyday family life.

Clinic-based ABA therapy provides a highly structured and controlled environment designed to support focused learning and skill development. In a clinic setting, children have access to specialized materials, therapy rooms, and opportunities for peer interaction that may not be available at home. This environment is particularly beneficial for targeting social skills, group learning, school-readiness behaviors, and structured instruction while minimizing distractions.

Clinic-based ABA therapy offers increased opportunities for peer interaction, which is essential for building social communication, cooperative play, and group participation skills. Children can practice turn-taking, following group routines, and engaging appropriately with peers under the guidance of trained clinicians. These skills are often difficult to replicate in a home setting and are critical for success in school and community environments.

The appropriate therapy setting is determined through a comprehensive assessment conducted by a Board Certified Behavior Analyst. Factors such as your child’s learning style, behavior needs, family goals, and level of independence are carefully considered. Some children benefit most from one setting, while others may receive services in both home and clinic environments. Our team collaborates closely with families to recommend the most effective approach for each child.

Our clinicians work together as a team to develop and implement an individualized plan of care tailored specifically to the needs of your child. Parent Education is a key componet of our services. Parents have opportunities to engage in trainings and learn how to implement intervention techniques and apply key learnings from their child’s behavior plan at home and in the community.
